Alessia Sersanti to Exhibit at Mercer Island Art Walk on May 2, 2025
Kirkland-based artist Alessia Sersanti will be showcasing a selection of original works during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Coldwell Banker Bain in Mercer Island. The event, titled A World of Art, will feature Sersanti’s personal exhibition Brushstrokes of a Journey, alongside the compelling work of fellow artist Alev Zeynep.
The opening reception takes place from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and offers an engaging evening of contemporary art, wine, and music in a beautifully curated setting. Guests can meet the artists, explore a diverse collection of paintings, and enjoy lively conversation with fellow art enthusiasts. The exhibition will remain on display throughout the month of May.
Sersanti will present a vibrant mix of pieces from her abstract and botanical collections, created using a layered process of oil and acrylic. While the gallery space may accommodate only one or two large-scale canvases, the collection will showcase a rich variety of textures, forms, and emotional depth.
“My featured collection, Brushstrokes of a Journey, is a deeply personal exploration of transformation, memory, and emotion,” Sersanti shares. “From florals that echo the chiaroscuro drama of Caravaggio—where blooms glow against dark backdrops and become metaphors for strength and softness—to abstract works inspired by the textures of nature and the rhythm of inner landscapes, each painting invites a moment of feeling, reflection, and connection.”
The artist’s participation in A World of Art was championed by Lana Pestava, a team member at Coldwell Banker Bain and part of the event’s organizing committee. “I’ve watched Alessia’s art evolve with such soul and intention,” Pestava says. “Her work is incredibly moving, and I knew it needed to be part of this show. It’s an honor to support her and share her art with our Mercer Island community.”
Rooted in her Italian heritage and shaped by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Alessia Sersanti’s work merges classical influence with modern sensibility. Her paintings evoke emotional resonance through rich textures, luminous contrasts, and symbolic forms.
