Artist Bio | Alessia Sersanti
Alessia Sersanti is an Italian-born artist currently living and working in Kirkland, Washington. Raised in Rome in an environment steeped in creativity, she was first introduced to painting by her mother, an artist in the 1970s. This early influence blossomed into a lifelong passion, leading her to study Art History in Rome and Renaissance painting techniques in Florence. There, surrounded by the legacies of the old Masters, she discovered her deep affinity for both classical and abstract art.
Her journey also took her into the world of fashion, where she designed a line of luxury women’s handbags for the Asian market—handcrafted in Italy—and later launched her own brand in 2017. Yet it was painting that called her back. Over the years, what began as a creative refuge became her truest form of expression.
Working primarily with oils and acrylics, Alessia creates layered, textured pieces that explore the interplay between nature, emotion, and energy. Her work merges abstract and figurative elements, often drawing inspiration from metaphysical themes, vibrant botanicals, and deeply personal narratives. Travel plays a central role in her creative process—she has journeyed through Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, and remote areas of the U.S., always seeking meaningful intercultural connections and sensory inspiration.
In early 2024, Alessia made the pivotal decision to pursue her art professionally. Since then, her work has been exhibited in the Pacific Northwest, collected internationally, and is soon to be featured in her North American gallery debut. Her paintings reflect a belief that thoughts shape destiny, and through layers of color and emotion, she invites viewers to pause, feel, and connect.
